Recording 297 - -Jane is Doctor Harrison now full time and has been for three months

So what happened with the giant ballsack?

So now they’re calling themselves the Doom Patrol and are acting like a super team

Rita is team leader

Cliff has his body back, but is still missing an arm.  How did we get here?

Seven successful missions.  That’s nice.  And she continues her use of notepads

Rita:  Until then, you’re Robotman.  Doctor Harrison is Crazy Jane. Larry is Negative Man.  Vic is Cyborg.  And Rouge… you’re Dogshit McGivens.

Rouge is trying SO hard to make up for things and take her punishment

So the brain’s box is controlling the time machine even though Cliff’s brain isn’t in it, and putting jellyfish on your head solves the problem of memory loss.  OK.

It’s nice to see Rita taking this much agency

Michelle Gomez and April Bowlby remain wonderful together.

Vic is now the IT guy and is kept out of the way

So Dr. Harrison is the tool to set up what everyone is lacking to start the season.  She’s filling us in on the new status quo

Rouge is letting her memory get wiped

Rouge has taken to trying to track down all the people she consigned to being weapons

Doctor H is actually really useful, isn’t she

The alters are all looking for Kay except Jane.  She’s in the memory of grandma’s house.

Cyborg seems ashamed of not having powers anymore.  And seems touchy about the subject with his dad who appears to only be trying to help.

Silas and Vic are treating putting Cliff back together s a project

They gave him the sense of touch in one finger!  That’s sweet.  And it’s nanites so the feeling will spread.

I like that they’re using the proper codenames now

Rouge and Rita catch themselves being happy at the same time and get awkward

Cliff is really sentimental

Rita:  The time machine is not an Uber.  It is a crime fighting apparatus

Vic and Silas’ relationship has really healed.

Laura is literally begging Rita for forgiveness now

I like how they fused the time machine to the giant robot head

And now we’ve caught back up to the opening sequence

It’s good that they’ve been so vague about how far in the future they are

Larry:  Vienna sausages and Skittles.  Eww.  On both fronts.

I admit it.  I laughed out loud at the ‘You had to touch the weiner’ joke

2042.  That’s when we are

Really solid age makeup on Joivan Wade in the one natural spot

Future Vic:  Papers called it the Buttpocalypse.

Zombie Butts!!  I love that they picked up that last shot from Undead Patrol

SO this is an apocalyptic future that they made

Michelle Gomez is a fucking treasure.

REALLY effective use of split panel for them going to their older selves

Rita’s biggest fear is losing more friends to death and now she’s seeing that everyone is dead and it was her fault.

Dr. Harrison is confronted with having gotten the girl killed through her actions

Silas – last seen leaving STAR labs

Rouge was elected to represent on e of the sides in peace negotiations

So future Vic double crossed them to steak the time machine.  And all of the future selves were in on it

Love that Vic’s synthetic skin didn’t age
