Notes on - Legends of Tomorrows: Knocked Down, Knocked Up

Knocked down, Knocked up notes Good that they didn’t even pretend that Gary wasa in Danger, and just showed him land Unknown Location, 30,000 BC Cavemen.   Does that time out right? Also great scripting to set up that Gary has his key and just needs to find a door in an era that has no doors, which is a funny conceit First weekly meetup for the retired Legends.   Still not sure hoe Wednesday evenings link up across the timelines, but who cares. I like visually that they’re all coming un through different doors Awww, other Zari sent a hug. Nice that they all noticed Gwyn wasn’t there right away. Mametz Wood, France 1916 Wouldn’t Gwyn finding z more tolerant time be technically breaking the terms of their retirement? Having the robot Alun really does make a nice contrivance to saving the real one.   Gwyn is smart Gideon is drinking wine alone and is hoping that the aberration is Gary.   Plus gets to wear fun outfits.   I kind of want...

Notes on - Legends of Tomorrow: Too Legit to Quit

Too Legit to Quit notes Thank you episode for sparing us the wait to find Gideon’s body and starting right in on getting her medical help. So we begin with Gary caring for Gideon Again, Gwyn is surprisingly handy with medical help Such a great conceit for why they’re forced to turn evil Gideon back on Protocol 276 Clever of Sara to anticipate that Evil Gideon might create more robos Did Zari make a mistake there or intentionally sabotage surveillance in the lab Finally we leave Sarajevo, 1914 and go to the temporal zone for the episode Evil Gideon:   What a surprise.   A Legends plan that didn’t work. Evil Gideon: Protocol 276 only applies when the Gideon system is in danger.   Wait… who’s the woman in the med bay? Astra: You. Evil Gideon: Dammit. Really clever plotting conceit to keep Gideon from killing them all.   Clever all around. They fixed our Gideon up much faster than I expected. Nate, why say ‘shut her down’ out loud a...

Notes on - Legends of Tomorrow: The Fixed Point

The Fixed Point notes Nice jumping right in to Sara trying to stop the assassination and then pausing.   Is it a flash forward?   Are they imagining what might happen?   Sets up nicely the gamification of the assassination stoppage later on They’re lifting the ‘fixed point’ verbiage from Doctor Who, but explaining it better.   Time travel ‘isn’t allowed’   Allowed by whom? It’s a clever plan to lure in Evil Gideon and her crew of robots.   But wouldn’t any old change in history do it?   They justify it by it having been so chaotic, and cleaning it up would be so big that it will take all the robots attention The gag about them not recognizing Nate’s drawing is cute.   They’re trying so hard to be supportive of his work. Sarajevo 1914 Their plan to drug the assassins is a pretty good one actually. Great job making fixed point guy very threatening at first.   It’s clear that he knows they plan to drug the assassins and is g...

Notes on - Legends of Tomorrow: Lowest Common Demoninator

Lowest Common Demoninator notes Gideon in that hat!   Also, nice reminder that the hat exists for later Gwyn wants to go back for Bishop’s body.   Makes sense given his backstory Matt Ryan is really killing it playing a different character Ava:   Does it still open to the factory? Nate:   Not unless something terrible happened to that factory. Why are they being dicks t Gideon about jumping to the mansion?   That was a really good choice Gideon has a fever? Gwyn hears Alan’s voice to get him to open the door to hell to allow the plot premise to happen Sara:   Wow babe.   This is your most complicated murder board yet Why do none of them notice they hurt Gideon’s feelings?   Except Gary.   What a bunch of jerks I guess it makes sense that their response would undermine Gideon’s confidence Why are they not taking advantage of the fact that their Gideon understands exactly how evil Gideon thinks.   Big mistake...

Notes on - Legends of Tomorrow: A Woman's Place is in the War Effort

A Woman’s place is in the war effort! notes Did they deliberately design the streaking up dematerializtion effect to set this up? ***Hey.   Wasn’t there a person on that toilet? The Marco Polo distraction was cute.   I was forgetting that they had the magic key The ladies outhouse.   Oh, that sets up the indoor women’s room later, doesn’t it. Bishop:   There is a soon to be bad Bishop, who’s actually a replacement, robot, clone of me, but I’m the good Bishop. Ava:   So which Bishop blew up the Waverider? Bishop: Well, that was me. Spooner:   Oh No.   Evil Virus Gideon. Gideon:   That seems a bit harsh.   How about misunderstood Gideon who’s just trying to keep the timeline intact? Aeroimpetus stabilizers Bishop just assumes he’s part of the team. It seems awfully easy for them to just walk onto the manufacturing plant grounds during wartime.   Even with the recruitment fair. Did Eleanor Roosevelt really m...
